Curiosity. Connection. Compassion.
Hi, I’m Angella McGrane, a licensed counselor who believes that healing happens when we learn to turn toward ourselves with compassion, rather than judgment. My approach is grounded in Internal Family Systems (IFS)—a model that sees all parts of us as valuable, even the ones that feel stuck or overwhelmed. I bring a unique perspective to this work shaped by nearly 20 years of experience as a registered nurse, which deepens my appreciation for the ways our emotional and physical worlds are connected.
At Courage Within Counseling, I work with adults, teens, and children—alongside families—to foster greater connection, alignment, and healing. Many of the people I support carry difficult past experiences or trauma that have shaped how they see themselves and the world. In therapy, we move at your pace, gently exploring these layers with care and curiosity.
Whether you're an adult navigating life transitions, a teen facing inner turmoil, or a parent seeking connection with your child, I offer a space where your full self is welcome. I also work with children and families, helping restore unity, understanding, and grounded connection at home. Many of the people I support carry difficult past experiences or trauma that have shaped how they see themselves and the world. My approach gently supports you in reconnecting with those parts at your own pace, allowing for healing without pressure or overwhelm.
In our work together, we won’t rely on words alone. I often integrate non-verbal and expressive methods such as art-based processing, somatic awareness, and sand tray exploration. These creative, body-based tools allow us to uncover wisdom and healing that words sometimes miss.
My role is not to “fix” you—but to gently guide you as you rediscover your courage within.
